What are MODS??

Simply put, a modification to your "TUBE" amplifier is done when YOU want more out of your amp!! Basic designs are really good in most amplifiers. We have some cool cook book stuff that will set YOU apart from the ordinary! From Hi Gain, crunch, or more BLUES Tone, we can tailor a sound that meets or exceeds your expectation. For Fender HOTROD DEVILLE and DELUXE owners, you will be pleasantly surprised at the sound and performance of your amp once we get done with it. All 3 channels perform and sound like amps that cost much more.

The CLEAN sound retains much of it's stock character, but is richer and fuller sounding. The CRUNCH channel has more defined crunch with better tone. Lead channel soars with natural sustained and harmonics galore! With a new sound, now may be a good time to upgrade preamp and power tubes to maximize the tone this circuit is capable of. We can take it even further with an upgraded output transformer and speaker!!

Fender HOTROD Modification: preamp revoicing on "DRIVE" channel for fat brown crunch, and a more "DRIVE" channel full of harmonics and SUSTAIN. Awesome for rock and blues players! Clean retains Blackface character, but is fuller sounding and richer.

Here's a video featuring Paul Rhodes using an Omega Amps modified Hot Rod Deluxe. No pedals used:

PLEASE NOTE: This modification is NOT going to make your amp sound like a CRANKED 100 watt Marshall plexi. It is NOT for HEAVEY METAL. It is a SOFTER sound based LOOSLY on Hot-rodded fenders of old. Its GREAT for BLUES and lighter rock and jazz fusion lead playing. Do NOT expect the lead sound to be overly BRIGHT or HARD sounding. It is more like a flute, or saxaphone, and is quite pleasing to play. Think more Santana than Poison... The bottom end is going to be a tad LOOSE thats where all the CHEWIE greasy harmonics live.
If you have questions PLEASE ask! Thank you!

Usually Feedback Is A Bad Thing:

...but check out THIS Review:

Hey Jim

Joe here from Chicago. Thought I owed you a proper review of mod you did to to Fender Blues Deluxe for me recently. I currently own two D style high end clones I am very happy with. I bought the Deluxe and had you do the mod as I was looking for an amp for rehearsals and small to mid size venues.

While you were working on, I read some of the blogs and they all seemed to recommend either a speaker upgrade to Celestion Vintage 30 or an Eminence Canabis Rex. I went with the Rex and in the end a great choice.

Your turnaround time was great. I think between the time I placed order and you did work and returned amp to me was 7 days. Most of that time being spent in shipping transit. The same day I received amp back from you, I had my amp tech buddy put back together and was playing it that night.

Amp sounds great. Again, my reference point is two high end D clones. Cleans are big, fat, round and warm. Jumping over to first gain stage on Drive channel, you can go from light grit to pretty high gain without losing note clarity. Amp still stays on warm end of sound spectrum. Nice part is you can set volumes on Clean and Drive channel equal and move between the two pretty seamlessly without big jump in volumes..

Then when you kick in More Drive switch, you can really pick up sustain and singing tones. Very nice. I'm having fun playing and really can't find any bad settings in either channel. It does sound better opened up in Drive channel as amp seems to breathe and note clarity improves (Vol at about 4 and above).

In the end, really glad I did and your customer service and enthusiasm only add to experience. As I get the amp out there playing, I will gladly share your contact info with musician friends.

Thanks and all the best.

Joe
